Thanks to these comments, I think it's pretty clear I should go with Inns & Cathedrals. I realize drafting in general is a very common house-rule (adding choices for your own strategy), but I was inspired by Onitama to also give you the inner turmoil of knowing you're giving your opponent this tile.ĮDIT: Since getting Carcassonne, I've been intimidated by which expansion to go for first. Therefore: finished roads and monasteries are worth 2 points per tile and finished cities are worth 4 points per tile, but unfinished they're worth 1 and 2, respectively.ĭraw 2 tiles, play 1, pass the remaining tile to your opponent. EDIT: I've adjusted my proposal via comments, as I'm ok with cities being more valuable but I feel the need to give incentive to complete all items. This way, all completions are worth 2 points and all unfinished segments are worth 1 point per tile. (2) I also really don't like that the traditional scoring system gives you absolutely no incentive to finish roads or monasteries whereas it does for cities. (1) I don't understand why cities should have any advantage over the others in the first place. But I'm still quite new to Carcassonne, so I wanted to bounce 2 ideas I'm thinking of instituting from here on out off yall:Īll meeples score the same, 2 points per tile involved. With the amount of time Carcassonne's been around and been hitting tables with remarkable consistency, I'm sure all possible variants have been done somewhere. r/tabletopgamedesign - Designer's subreddit.r/boardgameexchange - selling/buying/trading games.Game of the Week Calendar Related Sites & Subreddits The simplest use is to bold game names in your comment and add " /u/r2d8 getinfo" at the end of the post, but this post/sub has other features identified.
